Dining and Drinking at The Wizard Pub

 

Awarded a Michelin Bib Gourmand annually since 2001 and recommended in the 'Good Food Guide' and Hardens UK Restaurants, the menu at The Wizard changes regularly and reflects seasonality and our resourceful location: poultry and game from Goosnargh, butchery from Upholland, fish from Fleetwood, vegetables and dairy from Cheshire.

Whether its a full a la carte meal or simply a hand pulled pint from the local Storm Brewing Company in Macclesfield you can always be assured of a warm welcome by our long standing team. We are now entering our thirteenth year and our new Pub format is working well

We also offer a great Sunday Roast or Two; which are advertised on our Blackboards Weekly, our most popular being Organic Redpoll Beef (Cooked Medium Rare) with all the traditional trimmings...Yorkshire Puds, Roast Potatoes, Market Vegetables and Gravy.

Our beers are constantly changing and although our bar is on the small side our offering is huge! Currently we are sampling the award winning ale 'Silk of Amnesia' and looking forward to our next guest- 'Typhoon! Wainwrights from Daniel Thwaites is our main stay along with Peroni and Kaltenberg Hell- all on draught.

As for wines, well thats another story, we simply cant fit them all on the list! From organic riojas to fruity Austrians such as 'Sepp Gruner Veltliner 2008' and we still have Cloudy Bay Sauvignon!

If its liquid refreshment youre here for, remember we have an extensive food menu always available to tempt you into soaking up more than just the atmosphere! We have nuts and crisps at the bar and our 'small plates' may also be called 'booze soakers'!

Where possible we use local ingredients. If you have any intolerances or allergies please inform us and we can adjust dishes to suit your requirements. All dishes are prepared to order from fresh ingredients, therefore during busy periods you may experience a delay. All dishes are subject to availability.
