Awarded a Michelin Bib Gourmand annually since 2001 and recommended in the 'Good Food Guide' and Hardens UK Restaurants, the A La Carte menu at The Wizard changes regularly and reflects seasonality using locally and responsibly sourced ingredients.
Staples such as our famous Fish and chips battered using ale from Macclesfield brewery ‘Storm Brewing’ and our generous belted Galloway burger with triple cooked chips and Wizards own burger sauce are always available.
An exciting selection of sandwiches are also available 12-2:30pm Monday to Saturday.
As well as the A La Carte there are fresh, daily, seasonal specials displayed on several large chalk boards around the pub. Sunday roasts are always a popular part of the week with a hearty plateful of our in house sourced meats, giant home-made Yorkshires, crispy roasties, market veggies and rich meat gravy.
Our cask beers are constantly changing and although our bar is on the small side our offering is huge! We always have an offering from ‘Storm Brewing’ as well a regular guest ales from both Thwaites and Marstons. We also always have Estrella Damm and Crafty Dan’s 13 Guns on draft.
We think our wine selection is something to boast about, with incredible Malbec, Victorian Shiraz and New Zealand Sauvignon amongst our offerings by the glass and by the bottle the list is endless!
If you have any intolerances or allergies please inform us and we can adjust dishes to suit your requirements. All dishes are prepared to order from fresh ingredients, therefore during busy periods you may experience a delay. We highly recommend booking at all times but especially on Sunday if you have you heart set on one of our fabulous roasts!
