Welcome to the Strickland Arms
The Strickland Arms sits in a fine location on the edge of the Lake District, overlooking the entrance to historic Sizergh Castle, near Kendal.
The building itself has all the best of the traditional features of the area, from the flagged stone floor of the bar and downstairs dining area to the frisky young dog eager to play gently with the children or any sympathetic adult. All in place and all with excellent taste.
We have built quite a reputation for our food - often remarked upon as 'costing less than expected for such splendid dining' - we present a menu with something for everyone, clearly using much local produce and being individually prepared to order.
Our helpful and friendly staff deliver and atmosphere which is homely and welcoming to visitors and locals alike.
"In all, an excellent establishment - the quality is high in all respects, so go there and see for yourselves, you won’t be disappointed."
The Strickland Arms has been recommended in the Michelin Pub Guide and the Good Pub Guide for 2007, 2008, 2009 and 2010
In addition, we have also been recommended in the Good Beer Guide for 2009 and 2010
