31st December 2011 - Wedding - "Perfect Wedding Day..."

We had our wedding reception at The Racquet Club on New Years Eve 2011, and having just returned from honeymoon, we wanted to let everyone know what a wonderful venue this is. Sue was brilliant in answering all of our questions in the run up to the big day - getting back to us straight away with emails, etc, and on the day, she, Rob, Donna, Helen and the team offered an exceptional service. They really couldn't have done more for us (Rob even went to fetch my bridal bouquet from our bedroom after I had left it there accidentally during the wedding breakfast service) - nothing was too much trouble. No mean feat considering I was something of a bridezilla! The food was absolutely divine. We had had our taster menu at Ziba restaurant a few months before - which was gorgeous - but on the day it was even better! So many of our guests passed comment about how amazing each course was. As we were having a winter wedding, I had a very specific idea about how I wanted to the rooms to look - really romantic with twinkly fairy lights and tea lights - and it didn't disappoint. If you're looking for a wedding venue in Liverpool, this should be at the top of your list.

11 December 2011 - Apartment Stay - "great service"

This little hotel in the centre of Liverpool has fantastic customer service and is well situated for both the main shopping centre and the Echo Arena.
We stayed in Apartment 68 for one night and found it clean and modern, and quiet!
There were issues with how the apartment had been left by the previous guests, but we had a call from the management who informed us with all the details and even offered to put us up in the Thistle Hotel across the road!
After some negotiation we stayed in the apartment and thoroughly enjoyed it. Would recommend and would use again, definately!

We stayed in the above-mentioned 1 bedroom apartment which is just across the road from the hotel in a relatively new large block of purpose built apartments. The apartment was very nice and spacious, it was like having a suite as opposed to a room in a hotel. The only thing I would say about the apartment is that the door was very hard to get locked (forgot to mention this to reception upon leaving - so if hotel is reading please take note!). We did not use any of the hotels facilities so cannot comment on the hotel itself other than to say that the greeting and departing from the reception staff was very friendly and helpful. Great location for the docks area and about 10 mins walk if that from Liverpool One with plenty of bars on the way!

I held my 50th birthday dinner party bash on 3rd September in one of the private dining rooms. The whole experience from the initial visit, booking and then the actual evening was fab. I held a pre dinner drinks reception in the lovely bar area followed by a long, luxurious dinner that didn't finish until 1am. There were 23 of us on the night and everybody had a wonderful time thanks to a lovely venue, great food, delicious wine and excellent staff. Nothing was too much trouble and I would recommend the Racquets Club to anybody looking for a first class service at a reasonable price.

11 July 2011 - Wedding - "Outstanding service, nothing too much trouble."

My husband and I were on the search of a venue to host our wedding reception. After countless visits to bland hotel after the other we stumbled across this hotel. I knew the restaurant here, Ziba, after having a wonderful dinner with my friend a number of months previously and thought the food, service and decor lovely. So, based on this dinner experience we popped in to see if anyone had a few mins to talk to us about hosting a weeding at the venue. Rob, the assistant manager, spent 50mins with us showing us the venue and walking us through all aspects of their wedding services. We decided pretty much there and then that this was the venue for us! We had the venue in Ziba, rather than the conference rooms upstairs which is the usual wedding venue, and all the guests thought it a perfect setting for a winter wedding.

Rob and his team were a pleasure to work with throughout the entire process. Rob was thoughtful, considerate and gave his time freely whenever I had an email question or popped in unannounced to discuss something. Nothing was too much trouble. On the day the staff were fabulous, I can't think of a single thing I could complain about.

We also stayed at the hotel for the night. We went to bed late on the wedding night and got up early the next day to leave on honeymoon so we didn't get a chance to make the most of the facilities, but the room was lovely. Guests at the wedding who stayed at the hotel for a couple of nights thought it was fabulous.

I would highly recommend this as a wedding venue and would also recommend both the restaurant and the hotel o their own also. Great place, wish there were more like this.

3rd September 2011 - Wedding 2011 - "Beautiful, modern and unique wedding venue!"

We held our wedding reception at the Racquet Club on the 3rd September 2011 and we loved EVERY minute of our day. We originally picked this venue because of it's beautiful modern but classic look and also because of variety of rooms which we thought would allow people to party / relax / chat as they saw fit on the evening, this worked really well at our wedding and a lot of people commented on how nice and spacious the venue was. The food for the wedding breakfast and buffet was lovely, especially the dessert - eton mess! We weren't disappointed, so many people had told us in the run up to the wedding how great food was at the Racquet Club too. The bedrooms made for an extremely luxurious 1st night, we stayed in the Japanese room which was beautiful and extremely comfortable. Thanks Rob and the whole team for all your expert help and calmness in the face of my stress, it was a joy to plan this wedding with you! Lucy & Mark

26th Jan 2011 - Golden Wedding -"First class service in a first class establishment"

A wonderfull venue for our Golden Wedding celebration. 80 guests enjoyed superb service from staff who were invariably helpful and courteous. The catering was excellent and the surroundings were elegant and comfortable. Can't recomend too highly.

30 Dec 2010 Wedding - "Good taste... in every way!"

We got married at The Racquet Club in December 2010. The following is a copy of the letter we sent to the manager afterwards:

We just wanted to send a huge thank you to all the staff at The Racquet Club for giving us the most perfect wedding that we could have wished for on 30th December 2010. The venue itself was stunning - so many of our guests have commented on how amazing it was. One couple are already trying to convince their own son to choose it for his wedding! The sheer class of the venue was shown in the small details such as the embroidered napkins and antique candelabras - good taste seems to come as standard at The Racquet Club.

The setting for our ceremony was breathtaking - it exceeded our already high expectations - with a subtle Christmas feel, twinkling fairy lights and candles everywhere. During dinner, the food was served hot and tasted fantastic and the staff were very attentive and professional. Even the quirky bedrooms and tasty breakfast the next morning added to our overall experience.

However, our biggest thanks must be reserved for Rob. From our first contact with him until he left at the end of the evening, Rob has simply been amazing. Every email he answered promptly and professionally and all of his recommendations were perfect. Throughout the whole process - the planning and the day itself - Rob was there at the forefront keeping everything running smoothly. As the bride, I in particular felt much more at ease with Rob there keeping me calm! We can't imagine how exhausting it must be ensuring the bride and groom's ‘perfect day' goes perfectly, but Rob really did this and more. His organisational skills are second to none! My Dad has commented many times on how great Rob is and I think my husband remembered to mention him in his speech!

We'll be recommending The Racquet Club (and Rob) to anyone who will listen and look forward to enjoying dinner there in the future. Thank you so much!

29th Dec 2010 Wedding - "THE best hotel in Liverpool. Service second to none, especially for weddings"

Let's not beat around the bush here this really is THE best hotel in Liverpool. Plus I challenge you to find better customer service from all staff at any hotel in the North West!

The Racquet Clubs service standards and attention to detail is second to none. Consistent from start to finish, it was an absolute pleasure to hold our wedding here.
I have worked with many hotels in a conferencing capacity for years and no one else has ever come close.

Great, friendly place. Would recommend to anyone.
